Core competencies
Erick is a young Tanzanian Economist with over five years of international experience in research, data analysis, and the monitoring and evaluation of development programs. He holds an MSc in Economics with a focus on Environment and Natural Resources from Durham University, UK, and brings strong technical skills in econometrics, statistics, and time series forecasting.
He has worked for the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), and he also contributed to projects funded by USAID, the Blue Action Fund, the World Bank, BMZ (Germany), the Belgian Government, and the DOEN Foundation.
At Edhen, he supports the fundraising team by reviewing proposal frameworks, logframes, impact matrices, and performance indicators, and by producing data visualizations and dashboards.
Areas of expertise and competence:
Erick has expertise in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, and food and nutrition security, with a strong grounding in rural livelihoods and development economics.
He is skilled in climate-related tools and strategies, including ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), climate vulnerability and capacity assessments (CVCAs), the Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool (METT), carbon markets, and climate finance.
His work covers clean energy and renewable solutions, with a focus on sustainable energy access and environmental economics.
He applies rigorous quantitative methods for poverty and socioeconomic analysis, including multidimensional poverty assessment, behavioral survey studies, and game theory.
Erick is also experienced in marine conservation, fisheries economics, institutional governance, and gender assessments, promoting inclusive and sustainable development outcomes.
